Coffee cups from ground coffee waste.
India is a major producer of coffee beans and even bigger consumer of filter coffee. During the process of coffee preparation, 90% of coffee powder is thrown away as waste. Coffee waste would account for 1,00,000 Metric tons per year and ever increasing. To address this problem DBS has developed coffee cups from ground coffee waste. The properties of the coffee cups thus developed are biodegradable, animal edible, and serve hot coffee. This invention also replaces plastic and paper cups which are regularly used. Conventional plastic and paper cups pose a threat to environment and health alike. The present invention also adds value to industrial byproduct by converting waste to wealth.
