Biopolymer

Increased use of synthetic packaging films has led to serious ecological problems owing to their non-biodegradability. As a consequence, several thousands of tons of plastic materials are landfilled, and the problem is getting worse and worse. Hence, it is our prerogative to come up with packaging materials that are not a danger to ecology. The use of biodegradable polymers represents a real step in the right direction to help control environmental pollution.

At our lab, we have developed a polymer that is not only biodegradable but also suitable material for not just packaging but also replace plastic in several other applications. It is developed using fully natural agri resources and is completely biodegradable. Additionally, the biopolymer under discussion is sealable just like any other packaging material and acts as a barrier for moisture and oxygen. Thus, our product has a greater impact on society as well as on the environment contributing a bigger step towards sustainability.
